Pros

The medical record industry is really interesting, and Epic is at the forefront of the industry. Onsite perks are quite nice and you get to work with a lot of intelligent people on a beautiful campus. The corporate culture is pretty cool overall.

Cons

It is hard to be recognized for your work, frankly. Also, while the software industry necessarily relies on a lot of smart people, those same people can display the stereotypical lack of interpersonal skills that you could expect from people who work with computers all day. This may not be a problem if you yourself are a gamer who considers quoting lines from Tarantino films to be small talk, but it does get tiring for the rest of us.

Pros

Great company culture full of bright individuals. The company is growing at an exciting rate and is full of potential. Monetary compensation is well above average. The company slogan says it all..."Do good, have fun, make money"

Cons

Opportunities to move up in the company are slim. The company has a very horizontal structure.

Pros

Doing good. We are changing the whole medical industry, and eventually saving US Health care a ton of money. It is a great and healthy atmosphere. Laid-back, friendly people, flexible hours, good compensation (especially for people with little experience).

Cons

Not much growth opportunities. You do not learn programming languages used elsewhere, so most skills you learn before your first year cannot be applied much towards other jobs.
