Pros

The club membership, location, working from home option is great

Cons

I truly believe that the leadership of the “People and Culture” team do not know what People and Culture actually means. The P&C leadership do not treat us well however they only care about their own image and their own social media posts of their travels. They don’t convey the eqx core values. We have a high turnover under these leaders due to their ego driven decision making and culture of blame which they promote. They never take ownership or accountability for their own actions or mistakes. They aren’t interested in actually addressing concerns that are brought to their attention and they do an awful job covering them up. Everyone is keeping a track record of their errors. There are no opportunities for development or to grow in your career. Everyone at the top of this team needs to be replaced.

Pros

Free Membership. There truly is no other reason to keep this job except for the membership benefits. The pay is not financially feasible.

Cons

Salary, Scheduling, Environment, No professional training for the job position. Standards are not clear, no organization. Huge turnover rate with management. Facilities are not clean in spa at certain locations.

Pros

The free gym membership and shop discounts were great perks. The majority of the staff were very nice as well.

Cons

As a LMT you are pretty much working for free the majority of the time. You don't get paid for floor work. The pay is low in comparison to other spas that don't require marketing by the massage therapist. Most of the spas have little to no business. I did not stay around too long because I saw the writing on the wall. But I did have the ability to check their appointments for the last 6 to 12 months at 2 midtown gyms in NYC. They were averaging between 25 to 70 massages a month. That was with 2 to 4 massage therapist working. One male therapist who had been with the company for 2 years said "if you get 3 massages booked in a 6 hour shift you are very lucky". That was my cue to leave. Spare yourself the misery and avoid working for Equinox in their spas.
