Pros

Free gym membership Flexible Schedule Advancement Opportunities Fun, fitness-minded community

Cons

hourly wage for desk is not competitive or commission based. Can be REALLY BORING, if your club is slow. Upper management values sales and rapid expansion so much that it can lead to an "over-promise, under-deliver" situation.

Pros

Equinox members are all high earners and can afford personal training. The in house education, compensation, and bonuses are second to none. This is one of few fitness companies that provides affordable health insurance, 401k and other benefits most trainers don't get.

Cons

If you're the best in the industry, you will earn more money than anywhere else, however, more than half of the trainers earn less than 50k per year.

Pros

You have a chance to make your own schedule. Though this is some what limited due to needing to be available to clients. Productivity bonuses for doing lots of sessions. Decent health benefits.

Cons

Little opportunity to be recognized for anything other than productivity. Which translates to if you aren't a major contributor to revenue, then you might as well be a fly on the wall.
