Pros

Free gym membership and that is pretty much it. Also discount to their overpriced store, massages and personal training. Nothing else

Cons

Terrible benefits and they expect you to work on New Years and on Black Friday. They don't pay you out for unused vacation days. They won't invest in your 401k till a year later. Don't let the consumer marketing fool you. Working corporate for equinox is pretty terrible. They operate really inefficiently and ineffective with outdated technology and methods. Executives look down on anyone below VP level. Management won't support growth and discourage collaboration between departments. Everyone for the most part is out for themselves. Don't expect to come here to be a part of the change because there really is none and they want you to just fall in line with CEO.

Pros

free membership.....and discounts at the spa

Cons

Equinox has to be thee WORST company to work for. All of the employees are underpaid, ESPECIALLY the Front Desk staff. The position is not just scanning people in, you have to cater to everyone on staff as well as the members. I had 3 managers within a 6 month span, and was forced to work with the flu and conjunctivitis! all because no one would cover my shift Members spoke up for me and my boss still did not care, matter of fact I was fired 2 weeks later because members defended the unfairness or my treatment. Either the people they put in charge of the locations do not care about their employees or the company as a whole does not care.

Pros

Free membership, free workshops, teach you sales and program design, you are entered into EFTI which is a class to raise your Tier ranking, fun staff, won't fire you if you don't hit quota, compensated for floor shifts Great for beginners to learn things. Fun staff.

Cons

Way too many hours and way underpaid. Not unusual to work a 12 hour day and get compensated for maybe half of that. If you weren't there all day everyday, it was seen as you don't care. It's very numbers driven, so management will only feed trainers that have many clients and are known to sell packages. Mandatory meetings 2 or 3 days a week. You have to go even if you have nothing scheduled for that day. And it's usually all the same content (overcoming rebuttals, how to make the most out of a 30 min session, etc.) Manager says you run your own business, but you are so micromanaged. Mandatory "Special Events" at least 3 days a week, which comes off as desperate to the members. Sometimes there will be multiple special events at once and members literally run from you because they know it's a sales ploy. Such a rat race.
