Pros

* Free Membership and Khiel's products in the locker rooms * Great Co-Workers! * Learn a lot about fitness * Fun club atmosphere * Makes you want to be fit and healthy

Cons

* Feeling disposable * POLITICS - yes politics are at every job but it sucks when managers are handing some people clients and some people like me never get help * FLOOR SHIFTS!!! walking around for 4 hour time blocks, picking up sweaty towels for $8 an hour makes me feel degraded especially when I came in with a cert and experience * The ramping process, going to class handing in all sorts of paper work, endless meetings and e-mails * LOW PAY - when I train private I charge $75 and get to keep it, I can wear what I want and I don't have to submit my programs to anyone; with Equinox as a Teir 1 trainer I get $23 a session so that means when someone purchases a 12 session pack for $1032 I only get $276 of that!! * Uniforms- enough said * It's always an uphill battle when you work on commission, no matter where u are in the company u can't get comfortable you will always be looking for new clients * and sometimes the members are bitchy and think they're entitled to so much...but that just might be NYC

Pros

*Clean facilities * Opportunity to meet some heavy hitters * Free membership * Education * Really has a good handle on their Brand

Cons

* They expect you to work, work, work and not incorporate your life into YOUR life * Such a disconnect between management and employees it's sickening (Managers would rather send an e-mail than doing that old school thing (TALKING face to face) * It's hype. No matter how hard you work you will still be climbing an uphill battle to etch out a decent living * You are a number NOT a person

Pros

- Quasi - luxury facility to work out in. - Spacious and airy - Good classes - Front desk friendly

Cons

- Management does not take care of employees. - Primary concern are the members. - Big Brother always watching and listening. - Management teams up against employees to move up the ladder. - Management "In-House" Training is sub-par you can learn on your own. - Minimum wage for manual labor - Management does not take care of its employees. - Personal Training Managers and Training Managers take your leads and take them off site to train on their own while you work for 8 dollars an hour. Bottomline: 1) You can learn everything on your own through national certifications and via online resources. 2) The Tier system has no credibility if you want to go independent. 3) Management does not care about its employees who take 90% of your pay. 4) Management will create files on you even if you are perfect in your performance so they can make money on the side for themselves while they move up the ladder on your time. "If Harvey Spevak, CEO knew what was going on in his company he would wonder why the employee turnaround is so high." "Pay people minimum wage, take 90% of their pay while not treating them well?... What would you do?" "Do not fall into the trap of the brand. Clients will stay with you if you are good no matter where you worked or are currently working."
