Pros

The most responsive EQX has ever been for me was removing a Glassdoor review

Cons

We used to joke that everything was on fire. Our HR dept employee engagement scores were the lowest in the company and somehow it's now a surprise everyone has decided that being on fire isn't a pleasant experience and resigned a year later. The numbers from the survey told us this was going to happen and what did EQX do to respond to the data? NOTHING. It got worse. And our team of tremendously talented, naively positive HR professionals just normalized it for so long. If you have zero other options for work and decide to apply, take the work for what it is, turn half for your brain off in order to survive and try not to barf every time you hear that you're going to have to "reimagine" something that won't go anywhere. To my beloved P&C Firefighters, HR doesn't have to be THIS hard. Go live a better life doing anything else but this. I'll be seeing you on the outside!

Pros and Cons of EQX

Pros

- The culture of Equinox is what kept me around. I had extremely strong friendships with coworkers, felt respected by managers, and enjoyed having my free time spent at a luxury gym. - The facilities and classes are a huge perk, I became so spoiled with the brand new equipment and luxury locker rooms! - It is a great way to build your business as a new trainer since you aren't responsible for finding random leads. Yes, you have to cold call and nail your equifits (Where you sell yourself to potential training members) but at least you have a lead pipeline -

Cons

-Very tough financially, physically and emotionally to ramp up. If I didn't have my parents house to live in right after I graduated and began working with Equinox, I don't know how I would have made it that first year or so. - Members can be huge brats - They expect you to be there around the clock and do not allow (or at least didn't when I worked there pre-covid) you to train other clients. Also, they give you a hard time about juggling a bartending or non-training job too - Corporate can be very into micromanaging, so if your immediate manager isn't respectful and great like mine was, I can see how they would feel the pressure from higher up and pin it in you

Pros

Diverse group of professionals Flexibility of hours Coordinating with other departments to create optimal wellness plans for clients Complimentary membership

Cons

Pay model- You are guaranteed an hourly wage which is usually minimum wage and only compensated for each session if you meet a minimum of 6 sessions in a pay period. For the price of the sessions you would expect to at least get 10% of the session on top of your hourly pay.
