Flexible working environment, okay pay, office politics here and there

Pros

1. The core product is used by a number of MNCs and it is a fun process to understand industry trends. 2. The working environment is flexible - work outside the office when you want, and work hours can be flexible with core hours between 11am - 3pm. Summer Friday for 3 months where we can get off work on Friday afternoon. 3. Colleagues are generally friendly, some will be your friends even after they leave the organisation in the future. 4. Great start for your career to holistically research industries and companies if you want to pursue an analysis career. 5. Pay is not great, but acceptable. 6. Health insurance coverage is ok. Could be improved.

Cons

- Office politics exist, which is demeaning. Certain promotions are done without much clarity. - Atmosphere varies by team substantially. 1. Top management can be more transparent in what they do. Staff is notified at the last minute. 2. Always try to change/evolve, when what we need to do is to deepen the current products. 3. In the name of collaboration, some tasks are thrown to other teams.

Pros

Renowned and respected brand name Decent colleagues and work life balance

Cons

Very high preference for expats who know nothing, foreigners scrambling to move to Singapore to "enjoy life" and no measures to hire more local talent, company blacklisted by MoM but they don't bother. Expats don't do anything but take endless holidays (2-3 weeks a month) and getting bloated paychecks where locals receive lower than market rates. Creation of new roles to fulfill with expats from other offices who can't make it in their home offices.

Cons

- Salary is probably 15% below market rate - Progression based on tenure rather than performance - High turnover leads to understaffed teams - Tools are outdated
