Pros

It's corporate policy to only do 6 hour shifts, which is amazing! It's great pay for the little amount of hours you work. You meet so many new clients and have the opportunity to build great relationships and clientele. I've made such amazing friendships with all of my co-workers.

Cons

Its extremely hard on your body and management does not really take into consideration how much your body hurts when they are scheduling you to work more hours than normal. Around holidays they schedule you so many extra hours its ridiculous. Since every center is a franchise, sometimes the owners don't follow corporate policy and it confuses us on how to do our job the way we are supposed to. it is virtually impossible to get days off for vacation, all shifts must be covered, and even if they're covered, you may not get it approved. It's also almost impossible to call out if you are sick, management gives you such a hard time. Even when your numbers are above where they should be, it's never good enough for management.

Pros

The $$, my co-workers, the environment. My book is really busy which is great. My co-workers are great, I've met some great friends. I love my guests - they are awesome. Training was intense but helped me be prepared for guests. The owners seem to really care about me and the store.

Cons

Management is constantly talking numbers and goals.

Pros

There's paid training; 2-3 days with a wax trainer then you get 2 days to do free waxing for guests. Once you're finished with training it's impossible to feel uncomfortable once you're an offical wax specialist. The company is keen on being consistent and having a sanitary center/ wax rooms. When you start, your hourly is minimum wage and you can make up to $9/hr if you pass your evaluations. Pay is: hourly, plus commission on all services, products sold, and cash tips (if tipped on card it gets put on your paycheck)

Cons

Depending on the owner of the store you have a 50/50 chance of having professional, caring, and honest management. The center I worked in did not have a franchise owner liked by any of the workers. The manager was ok, but not professional. During the winter season it can be difficult to keep your numbers up, which can lead to a one on one meeting with the manager. Insurance: expensive, expensive, expensive.
