Pros

Name recognition. Good people working in the trenches. Very dedicated.

Cons

Experian lost the concept of it's people being it's greatest asset. Layoffs occur yearly if not more and many of the people that survive the cut are senior management 'pets'. Many have had poor or adequate performance for years but are kept on the payroll because they either have relatives working at Experian or are pals with the VP's. They sold some of theie long term employees short and outsourced many IT job is the last year just to save a buck. Thats a kick in the pants to people who endured 15+ years of changes and operating decisions that were made by people who only stayed a year ot two before being laid off, fired, or moved on to other jobs. Don't work at Experian if you want to make plans for a long future.

Pros

Experian offers reasonably good benefits. However, they recently elimiated company contributions to their 401K in North America.

Cons

Highly political atmosphere. Job security and potential for advancement depend solely on how well you fit into a particular clique, or how close a personal relationship you have with your manager.

Pros

This is a friendly company that offers several areas for advancement. There are bonuses provided to employees at the end of each fiscal year, dependent upon meeting company revenue goals. Management is approachable and open to suggestions. They encourage team work and collaboration. There are opportunities to take seminar type courses related to the industry, which help to develop employee skills. The company offers good health benefits which include vision, dental and medical. In addition, the company offers tuition assistance for college that is helpful for employees interested in improving upon their skills and knowledge. For the most part, this has been a great place to work.

Cons

In the past 2 years, the company has gone through a series of changes related to the struggling economy. This has included a large number of layoffs, which unfortunately have created a sense of discomfort in the day to day working environment. Outsourcing has become a major focus, as the company attempts to cut overhead costs. Unfortunately FY09 appears to be the first year in a while that employees will not be receiving bonuses. Recently the company also had to discontinue their 401K matching. However again, this is an effort to continue being successful in a struggling economy. I think this will change in the next 1-2 years.
