Pros

Innovative Environment: Farfetch is at the forefront of luxury e-commerce, providing a cutting-edge and fast-paced work environment; Global Reach: Working with brands and boutiques from around the world offers a unique and enriching experience, enhancing global business acumen; Professional Growth: There are ample opportunities for professional development and career advancement within the company, especially with the recent acquisition by Coupang; Collaborative Culture: The company fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture where teamwork and diverse perspectives are highly valued; Employee Benefits: Competitive compensation packages.

Cons

High Pressure: The fast-paced and competitive nature of the e-commerce industry can lead to high stress and demanding workloads; Transition Challenges: The recent acquisition by Coupang may bring about organizational changes and uncertainty, which can be challenging to navigate; Work-Life Balance: Due to the global nature of the business, employees may experience long hours and the need to coordinate across different time zones; Bureaucracy: Portuguese bureaucracy is notorously bad, and as the company grows, there may be increasing layers of bureaucracy that can slow down decision-making processes; Job Security: In the context of the acquisition, there might be concerns about job stability and potential restructuring.

Pros

- Used to have a really good company culture - Used to have good progression - Felt like everyone was in it together - Good benefits

Cons

When things started to go downhill, it became very evident that the company had over-hired and made some very odd investment decisions. It also became evident that some middle management had no idea what they were doing, I assume partly because execs weren't clear with the FF mission, but also because a lot of them had been wildly over-promoted. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that my final 6 - 12 months spent there were entirely rudderless. In the end, I think what happened just exposed how inefficiently some departments were operating, with "processes" and systems that were/are often baffling and worryingly inept. The business model also made everything 10x more difficult every step of the way. I was genuinely relieved to be made redundant and feel sorry for those left behind.
