Pros

You always learn new things and have the opportunity to expand your skills. Overall, it gives you a very good opportunity to start for a successful career.

Cons

The training program is self funded so that you should be able to afford your living expenses while on training.

Pros

Brand new office in the financial district. Knowledgeable trainers. Covers some of the leading new technologies in web/java development. If you went through college and had trouble putting it all together, this job will help you achieve that and get you in shape to be a developer.

Cons

Currently we use IGEL's that connect to VM's in England. It's an awful solution which should be solved soon. All sorts of websites are blocked by the IT guys in England, and it's rather annoying and useless. If we want to slack off, we'll find something on the internet. The free training also means unpaid training. If they decide to hire you, I think they should give you a monthly stipend to help you get by, maybe 300-400$ for travel expenses. The city isn't cheap.

Pros

FDM's clients are big names and do wonders for a CV You get exposed to some pretty wide scale technologies learned so much in my six months on site compared to a friend did working for a smaller company. Good graduate pay for most places in England You make a lot of great contacts and meet a lot of great people.

Cons

Unpaid training period is one, especially if you don't get signed off right away. FDM market themselves as a clear cut solution, once you join that's it your certain to get a job. This is not the case. You still have to work hard and you are still competing against other trainees for jobs. Do not expect everything to be handed to you on a silver platter. Requirement to be flexible in location (Could be a pro if you like to travel) First year pay is not that great when you compare it to graduate rates in London
