Terrible experience, not recommended

Pros

There are few pros: -paid PRINCE 2 qualification -office location -training for free, after all -if you are lucky the clients are good opportunities for the future

Cons

-after the training you have to wait in the pond (a big open plan space with computers) without anything to do -they are NOT clear and transparent with contract when they recruit you. there is no written anywhere that you have to attend the academy after training -you have to be available for account managers email and phone every time and you get told off if you do not answer immediately -no communication between departments -everyone seems helpful but they dont care at all -the account managers think they are gods on earth but they are a few years older than graduates and sometime even less qualified -the account managers do not care of your experience or preference -the salary between placements is 18,000 K and nobody says anything about it -there is not living allowance -Terrible assistance to foreign graduate (flexibility in the contracts for accommodation in London is impossible)

I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your time with FDM and that it didn’t work out for you. We are as transparent as possible in regards to the contract, and appreciate that the programme may not suit everyone. We are always looking for ways to improve and welcome all feedback. Pros

Well, apparently the only positive thing to mention here is the possibility to take footsteps into big companies, banks, big fabricants and so on. Most of the collegues I met throughout the so called "training phase" were nice ... and thats about it

Cons

Well, i actually dont know where to start. UK's contracts are extremely bad, no paid sick leave, deduction on your salary, 24k a year in a city like London!!. Germany, where I was being placed, is a bit better when it comes to salary. But don't expect to be paid as internals, because even though law forces them to, they use all possibilities not to. you get bounded to the contract for two years, being forced to pay back a huge fee (1/24 for every month left) , every training costs around 20000 Euros. Here comes the next point, I dont understand where these costs come from. Most of the teachers had to be taught by students :) and this program nowhere near prepares you for the so callled "IT Consultant". You are going to be perm hired at FDM but handed around and sold to one company after the other. Doesnt matter if you like that job Idea or not, you mind doesnt matter here. THe contracts are extremely hard to understand, and after a long time working for them I still wouldnt get many aspects, same as for many other people being hired. Worse aspect though is their ability to lie, work together and put you in a bad light. Things werent to discuss, I had the right to accept their point of view, no chance to defend myself nor discuss things out. Actually the reason why I left the company. So after all, good if you have no experience at all and want to get your foot into business, but only if you're will to be treated as a slave. Because after all, you're not more than a number.

Pros

- free coffe - exposure to blue chip companies - fairly good trainig - really easy to get accepted - Central location and nice office

Cons

It's all a scam at the end. The sales team try to sell you out as they wish, there is no respect for your individual thoughts and preferences. The chance of getting placed in a nice company are fairly poor. You could move to london just for FDM and then get placed as a developer or BA at a meteo office in the middle of nowwhere!

I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your journey with FDM. Even though we do consider preferences for placement, we make it clear before candidates join that the placement locations are dictated by our client opportunities and therefore could be anywhere in the UK. Those that are flexible progress to have extremely lucrative careers as all our clients are reputable companies. However, we appreciate that this does not suit everyone, which is why we are so transparent up front.
