Pros

Group of very dedicated and interesting people work at FINCA. You will hear a multitude of languages at the office.

Cons

People are overworked and undervalued. There is a culture of blaming the junior people for the mistakes of the higher ups. No room for growth. Favoritism runs rampant. Everyone is trying to leave. Men seem to be treated more fairly at lower levels than women.

Pros

Great, hard working people. Important mission. Good location close to metro and places to eat. Opportunity to telecommute. Place to park bikes that's secure and showers in the building.

Cons

"Execs" with no relevant experience to run a company like FINCA, many never headed their areas until FINCA. These incompetent managers who can’t get along have driven the company to the brink of bankruptcy. Given their lack of experience, management just tries things, with no impunity when things go wrong, as is often the case. The ongoing waves of layoffs, frozen salaries and little to no room for advancement have created a negative culture that no amount of employee recognition programs can alleviate, especially when the employees see a different behavior on the part of the senior managers. More and more people going to be fired and yet their so called managers continue to act with little integrity, spending money on frivolous things and wasting time on projects that won’t help turn things around.

Good, fun people work there. The relationship with colleagues is great!

Cons

1) No opportunities for upward movements (NONE) 2) Salary is severely below market unless you have someone in management in your pocket 3) Undervalue and overwork good employees 4) Dysfunction in communication, simple tasks can take an exorbitant amount of time due to bureaucracy 5) Management has no direction to speak of 6) Very limited professional development activities

FINCA International Response

We are sorry for your individual experience. FINCA genuinely values our employees’ experience and we want every single employee to have a fulfilling career here. Over the years, many of employees who left for other opportunities ended up returning, including our current Co-CEO. FINCA is laser-like focused on our client/customer experience, including our internal experience. In the past year, we have: - Expanded our training offered to help employees skills, including Lean Six Sigma, training for first-time supervisors, etc. - Established and developed a training on our internal brand values, which include reward integrity, accountability and commitment - Initiated a worldwide employee recognition program, the Star Award, to celebrate the amazing achievements of our employees. FINCA believes our most important obligation is to our clients and employees. Again, we are very sorry for your personal experience and wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.
