Pros

Great opportunity to work in a global organization with direct exposure to unique needs of developing markets. Despite excellent learning opportunities and comp, moving up is unlikely unless you are British.

Cons

This is the right place to work for professional development or are strictly interested in maximizing your comp. However, it is worth noting that few employees resign or retire. Rather, most are let go as a result of a downsizing initiative which occur every 18 months like clockwork. The addition of Emma Wamsley as president in 2010 has had little positive effect on the organization's business model or performance, adding fuel to the already underperforming division.

Sad to see the decline and exodus

Pros

Tesaro had a proud family oriented culture, one that rewarded individual accomplishment and team collaboration. They also had an extreme focus on the patient and their journey through their cancer treatment with the goal of extending life and improving quality.

Cons

Sadly, the GSK team does not understand this, and we are being taken over at a more rapid pace by a group outside of the Boston area that does not understand this market or what made Tesaro unique in biotech. There may be good intentions and words of collaboration and communication, but actions are not matching the words.

Pros

Some really great people at all levels, work can be interesting when it's not tied up in endless layers of governance.

Cons

Extremely old fashioned management style. Massively complex and becoming more so. Little or no recognition for anyone. Bureaucratic and slow moving.
