      Pros

      Training regimen is second to none. Once you have graduated from GSK "bootcamp," you have a common bond with your co-workers that will result in a common level of clinincal knowledge. This translates into confidence in sharing clinical information with common customers.

      Cons

      Local influences on sales performance in relation to competitive regional co-workers who do not enjoy the exact same obstacles. This circumstance results in unfair regional sales rankings.

      Good opportunities to travel Relaxed atmosphere Great facilities for staff including company sports complex. Easy to get involved in the social side of work.

      Cons

      Very little to complain about in my department ("IT") Little opportunity to move from contractor to full time but treated much the same excluding benefits.

      Opportunities for professional growth within a given department, great benefits package/pension plan, in general corporate culture promotes a team-based environment.

      Cons

      All of the Pros above exists in most departments but not all. So sorry. If you are interviewing for a position at this company ask clever questions to get an idea of the culture and management style of the department. Changing of upper management can grossly affect the culture of a department. The opportunities to move about internally will come around with the constant reorganization but only then. Change is the only constant (which is necessary for survival in this industry) so you will have to learn to accept the change.
