Pros

There are varied carrer opportunities, the ability to progress within and between roles. The benefits package is excellent and the company can be flexble in accomodating personal needs. The focus on delivering benefit to to patient and value to the payer is excellent and to my mind places GSKahead of many others in the industry.

Cons

The climate in the pharma industry and the attitude of society towards big pharma is driving rapid change and cost cutting. this is not specific to GSK, but GSK is not immune. Andrew Witty seems to have solid appreciation of the issue. Head office location at Brentford has to be one of the worst locations in London from a transport and ammenity perspective. Car parking is very restricted and public transport links are poor.

Pros

There is great value in accurately representing the benefits and limitations of pharmaceutical products. Physicians and patients need solutions to treat ailments and we meet that need. The benefits of a free car, free insurance, free gas,and good benefits is invaluable. The freedom from daily scrutiny by management is very valuable.

Cons

Glaxo uses its sales force as puppets. They have a tendency to stick their heads in the sand and repeat the same mistakes over and over again. The management is driving their best talent out the door. The company takes for granted the work that is required to be successful and does not fairly compensate for overtime. There is an overwhelming amount of stress associated with this company.
