Pros

Groupon is a great company to work for, if you are young, extroverted, and thrive in an environment of high uncertainty. The job is perfect for the cliche self-starter who wants to have fun at work while putting in a high degree of effort. Managers have a budget to provide their teams with monthly activities to get to know one another, and there is a high degree of socializing in and around the office, as well as the city of Chicago. It feels like there is at least one Grouponer within 10 meters of me at every bar I visited during weekends. Groupon is a fast-paced environment where the rules, processes, and organizational structure is constantly changing. Andrew Mason and the executive team have done a great job of keeping employees in the know, with the periodical "town hall" meetings to disseminate changes and new information.

Cons

As a pro, also a con with Groupon's constantly dynamic state; if you like continuity and a stable environment where you can predict what you will be doing in one month or one year, Groupon is not for you. Groupon may also require you to work above and beyond 40 hours a week and weekends if your division or team is not doing so well. Also, it is difficult to ignore the recent, generally scathing media criticisms; morale is impacted.

Pros

For starters, specially if they get to be friends with the German C-Level, it can be an intensive experience.

Cons

Scams, total lack of respect for people, management completely unaware of what's happening and not caring about employees, costs, processes or anything that is not sales

Pros

-Free fruits and soda -Free beer every fortnight - Amazingly beautiful Women - Young people

Cons

7 months ago, when I started to work for Groupon Brazil, I saw a chaotic environment, with its own beauty, growing fast and with a lot of oportunities. The company was working with a huge lack of processes, and since the managers start to map this process and make them work, the company will start to grow in the right way. But nobody seems interested on making the company be a better place to work. Everybody is upset about the way things are happening here, and the a lot of good people and some managers (including the brazilian COO) are leaving the company. The CEO doesn't look to care about the employees, the worst employees are promoted and they don't seems to trust brazilian employees, neither understand the brazilian customer mind. All the good ideas, the innovation and the joy of working for Groupon disappeared when the "make money - doesn't matter how, or we'll fire you " philosophy cames in.
