Pros

Opportunity to move up the ladder quickly

Cons

1. Poor middle management, people who got in early but don't have enough experience for management positions 2. Bad benefits, didn't match 401k 3. Poor work/life balance, I'd often work 60+ hours a week

Pros

-Decent benefits -Fun coworkers -Quirky CEO -Free beverages -Catered lunchs

Cons

Upper management is a joke. They have no experience in managing more then a checkbook, and have been promoted based on the speed of growth of the company, and "Talk time" from when they telemarketed for their region. The company does not adhere to nor recognize expertise and experience, yet instead embraces unnecessary and wasteful changes that do nothing but upset the businesses they represent, and throw company money away. This is no longer an Andrew Mason vision, yet a company going public grasping at straws to get an edge on the competition, and doing it very poorly. If you have so much as managed a Circle K, this job is beneath you. This is an entry level job at best. However if you have no family, no expenses, and just graduated college and have a desire to be a telemarketer alongside good-looking people...this job is for you!

Pros

-No cap on vacation or sick days (although you will be made to feel guilty when you take it) -Can make good money if you are lucky enough to be placed in a decent market (although all markets are going downhill)

Cons

-Immense pressure to hit unrealistic sales goals -Management out of touch with what's going on during phone calls (it's getting harder and harder to close deals as more and more people don't want to work with Groupon) -Used to be a fun culture. Now it's all about the bottom line and feels like your typical call center -Sales staff are worked to the bone
