Pros

The author and books that the company attract are high profile and exciting to be involved with. They will often be in the best seller charts which makes it satisfying to be involved with them

Cons

There is always a sense that your position is insecure. This runs from top to bottom of the company. This makes is hard to stay motivated as you worry that you might be out next week.

Great People; Very Corporate Work Environment

Pros

The people are great and passionate about what they do; the books are also great; good benefits

Cons

Upper management can be very difficult--decisions seem to be made based on the whims of a few people rather than logic. The amount of work is overwhelming and many people are stretched too thin.

Pros

Pros: okay hours, nice people, get to rub elbows with celebs, tons of free books, unlimited sick days, relaxed office culture where you can say pretty much anything you want.

Cons

Cons: Salary, hard to get promoted, mediocre managers, work was not that interesting, the authors are frequently god-awful to work with due to outsized egos.
