poor pay bad attitude

Pros

The company offers 12 nights stay at any Hyatt in the world, but you need to have worked a year with them before you can request. Breaks of 30 mins with cafeteria food. Uniform cleaning service.

Cons

There is an imbalance between the Restaurant and the Bar staff although they belong to the same department. No holidays off ever! Cafeteria food is either old, cold or burnt. Pay is really poor, considering the amount time you spend there. Permanent staff is paid per month, not hour, even though sometimes they end up staying longer than their shift, whereas casual staff is paid hourly, minimum wage, but doesn't have any extra benefits. Management is poor, there aren't any leaders and instead of fixing existing problems they pile up new tasks for the staff. Severely understaffed, puts a lot of pressure on the employees. Cash tips and Service Charge are all shared so it doesn't really matter how much you run, you will end up with little to no service since it is shared with managers and back of house staff. they use an old operating system which slows everything down since it crashes once a day. There is no way you can advance in the department.

Pros

Compensation Not too much interference by superiors Perks - 12 free nights and 50% off F&B at Hyatt hotels anywhere in the world Good leadership at the very top Almost start-up like thinking Decision making powers are provided with complete trust

Cons

Processes don't trickle down to the bottom Some key positions seem to be held by inefficient people
