Pros

Great work/life balance options (telecommuting) Most coworkers were helpful, team players, competent, and supportive Recognized industry leader Lots of training/education opportunity Was treated fairly by management

Cons

Corporate culture of telecommuting can make you feel isolated Can be difficult to stand out to get promoted, change divisions/specialties, or move to management track Appraisals and ratings are quota based (certain % of top and bottom performance ratings must be assigned regardless of employee performance on a team)

Pros

There is flexability in work hrs and locations, you're not micromanaged by management, like minded people, lathough you have to defend your actions constantly you're not going to be back stabbed.

Cons

You can be forgotten about, too many moving parts in the cooperation, the samllest task takes a lot of time and effort to complete.

Pros

IBM has a good brand, good reputation in the IT sector. It is a cash rich company growing through acquisitions, means more opportunity.

Cons

IBM is very slow, it is a giant machinery and is difficult to steer. If you are happy to work in a big corporation, then IBM is the place. But prepared to be paid little bit less than the market.
