Business Outlook
Pros
Gain a good understanding of the industry and the trends that are shaping it. Good place to gain some experience ie resume building. Good people work for IBM. Support you when you want to get additional education/training. Can change careers without leaving the company. Very stable jobs, if competent you will keep your job. Telecommuting is well established and encouraged if job will allow.
Cons
Limited ability to advance beyond lower level management positions. Pay is below average. Decision making is slow and tedious process. No reward for risk taking. Can't innovate due to environment with risk adverse management.
