Pros

Provide broad range of services and have very complex methods for each delivery areas. Provide Work from Home opportunity on a need basis.

Cons

IBM is going through major internal transformation and trying to position itself primarily as Cloud platform company with strong focus on cognitive computing. However, as IBM India is primarily viewed as cost center, this technology shift related growth opportunities hardly reaching in its realm and existing GBS projects are just viewed as money fueling mechanism to support this technology shift. So salary growth, especially for IBM India GBS employees are heavily impacted even for high performing accounts.

Pros

IBM HR Policies like - - If you are not promoted for so and so years, your rating won't be considered, irrespective of hard work you put throughout the year - In IBM PL is Privilege Leave not Paid/Earned Leave, so as to encourage employees to avail leave and maintain work life balance. Although, no PM allows to avail this leave, and in the beginning of year (1st Quarter) we start receiving mails stating we are short of billing. And the truth is many people have not availed a single leave at this time.

Cons

Major consequences are - -People have started realizing that all these IBM HR employee central policies are not for employee welfare, rather exploitation. People discuss this during group chats, however, most of them are afraid to bring this in front of management, due to fear of losing job. -People working hard to get good rating, finally achieve good rating, however, the net gain remains zero due to IBM HR Policies. -People not even consumed their Deferred Leaves, current year quota untouched, still receives mail stating we are short of billing and we need to work during weekend.
