Not ideal for PA or NPs

Recommend
Business Outlook

Pros

Loved working with my team. Clean environment (if you also help contribute to cleaning the facility). Job is a job.

Cons

Unrealistic scheduling and patient triage. Certain "guests" are NOT appropriate for treatment; yet to increase profits, they will take their money and let the providers deal with the unsuccessful and unrealistic results. No MA's to help facilitate flow. The provider has to treat pt, clean room and equipment, and take care of follow ups, which can go over your time. Questionable cleaning protocol for the gauges used on every patient.... Also, for PAs and NPs, they provide a lower salary purposefully and tell you the productivity bonuses from "add ons" will make your total salary more market competitive... In reality, this does not happen and you can get a different PA/NP job that pays a much higher salary. For all the education, time/resources spent becoming and advanced practitioner, I personally feel there is no reason why NPs and PAs should not be making a six figure salary. Also, I spoke with a recruiter who was very honest with me. She told me she was glad to see Ideal Image on my resume for only a short period of time. They said if I stayed there longer, other employers/recruiter's confidence in general medical knowledge and skills decreases (based on the whole "You don't use it, you lose it" mentality).

Pros

Ideal Image used to be the leading expert in laser hair removal and focused on safety as a number one priority. This WAS one of the best places to work.

Cons

Everything has changed over the past two years since Bruce Fabel has came in and changed everything this previously successful organization stood for. Now it is all about the money, not the Guests or employees. Ideal Image is now providing new services like Ultherapy, Picosure and injectables. The rollouts happened extremely fast without proper planning or training. It was obvious safety was not a concern only sales and money. Most of the providers NATIONWIDE are not comfortable with injectables or any of the other services and do not perform the treatments to the best of their abilities. I personally am not comfortable getting some of the treatments at Ideal Image and would rather go somewhere else...AND I WORK HERE! Nobody knows what's going on nor do we understand what to look for most the time. Not only is Ideal Image a costly service, it is also NOT SAFE anymore! The public should be made aware the nurses are practicing with their eyes closed and adverse effects WILL HAPPEN! It's your body people, go to an experienced doctor or nurse with the appropriate training and experience. In regard to the other reviews about the poor leadership and execution by Bruce Fabel, our current President, I couldn't agree more! He came to Ideal Image, a very successful company when Steiner Leisure purchased us a few years ago and tried to fix things that weren't broken...and now IT IS BROKEN! Bruce is an ego-driven, money-hungry, poor excuse for a leader. It shows by the overwhelming decrease in sales over the past two years and the serious lack of employee moral company wide. The only thing Bruce cares about is sales and money, the funny thing is he fails miserably at those two things. Bruce will be the first one to tout his executive experience at Nike, Calvin Klein, and Warner Bros. Retail (which is now out of business by the way) but he will never mention his involvement as the President and "Marketing Guru" at a now non-existent health franchise startup called "Butterfly Life." That's because his egotistical leadership skills caused this company to fail and lost many entrepreneurs their life savings. Just google "Butterfly LIfe" and "Bruce Fabel" -- maybe through the word "scam" in there too -- and you will come across many lawsuits that were filed and stories of franchisees who were promised money and success and received nothing. One franchisee reports losing $250,000 after trying to reach out to Bruce for his "marketing advice" when he apparently responded to her that there was no reason for them to be talking every day! Did Steiner Leisure even do their research on Bruce Fabel before bringing him on board???

Low Morale

Pros

The employees that still work here are trying their best to stay positive amid changing job hours, services, pay and leadership.

Cons

High turnover for many reasons. Competitors are moving in to our markets and no one seems to address it. Morale very low. Everyone is hoping things turn around soon. Work more, get paid less. No work life balance. No longer a successfully marketed company (radio).

Ideal Image Response

Our employees are excited about offering our guests new cutting edge services that will enhance their appearance and self-confidence. Employee morale is high. We are still advertising on the radio and recently launched TV advertising campaigns. Companies trying to replicate Ideal Image is a form of flattery. We recognize that change is not easy for some and will continue to try and guild our employees through positive company changes.
