Pros

1. Good infrastructure, and good ambiance. 2. Process is well defined for all the needs, right from system allocations to installations and so on. 3. Most of the people are approachable. 4. Many different types of clients with multiple technologies exposure. 5. I was blessed with very good managers, very understanding and actually see what you are capable and what you delivered than what you couldn't. Very encouraging for me.

Cons

1. Process, may times feels like, very rigid. 2. Rule to remember "Nothing is free in Infosys". Including Parking is charged. However (you have to think that) it is used for the improvement of the specific service, I guess 3. Very rigid working hours. Especially if you are working in a secure ODC, you can't use the Infosys's "Work From Home" option at all and it won't be compensated with anything else. Quarterly daily average working hours must be 9hrs 15 mins. It used to be annual daily average until an year ago, but been made as quarterly daily. I have seen may people struggling against this. 4. Pay structure is another issue. Your entire salary, after standard deductions is taxed. If you declare your savings, until you submit the proof, you will be taxed at 50% of that section. Housing loan is another nightmare. You need to produce Copies of Registration of the property. I know some of the people who haven't done the registration and are paying EMI's and can't avail the tax benefits, of course they have the other supporting documents and they are not accepted :(. 5. Quarterly variable payment is another funny thing. Many of the DM's bring in new parameters to impact the employee's variable pay, viz., negative average working, # of days of leaves (even if you had to go on leave on health emergency and performed very well till they went on leave, manager just said your utilization was less and negated the quarterly pay off) 6. No consideration for the employee's performance, if your utilization, in another words if your billability was less. Very painful and nobody will listen to you. 7. Reskilling is a good buzz word but is being used as a parameter for your performance assessment. Which i just to impose the rule. People will surely learn something when they need or want it. Forcing it just worsens the effectiveness of the delivery.

Avoid like the plague

Pros

Exposure to enterprise IT systems & major clients, some dedicated, polite and talented developers.

Cons

Too many to list - Developers are treated extremely poorly at this place. I've witnessed bullying from middle management, coercion to work weekends to the point that staff members cried because they just wanted to see their families for one weekend and were missing their children growing up. Some genuinely nasty characters have free reign and take full advantage of the tenuous position of 'on shoring' staff - hanging the threat of being sent home over their heads like the sword of damocles while demanding overtime. Depressing to witness, avoid. It's probably even illegal. Find somewhere more progressive.

Pros

I have been able to learn and practice a lot of things. The projects are very interesting. They motivate the employee to improve his/her skills all the time.

Cons

There is no work-life balance at all, my first meeting is at 6 am and my last one is at 9:30 pm (usually ends at 11 pm) every day Sun-Fri. When they offered me the job one year ago, the normal day to day was going to be 8-5, totally false! The pay is not good enough maybe average. There are a lot of problems related to visas, I have seen more than 30 colleagues leaving US (only in my project) some of them after 10+ years of working experience here as successful software engineers, simply because according with the government they don’t have enough technical experience, so their visas are being cancelled. C’mon! There is definitely something fishing here... Maybe is not the correct time to belong to Infosys as a foreign.
