Pros

- Managment is ruthless with other companies, sharks - Good place to get experience/training in many areas - Unorthodox, they just do what they feel is best to make money, not set in thier ways - Very flexible with time off, unlimited sick days (apparently), floating holidays

Cons

- This company is in it to grow and make money no matter what. It's in the mission statement. Forget "american" business ideals like loyalty. If you are making them money you're good. If you aren't, watch out. - No process for wage increase or bonuses. Some people have been here years with no increase, others get promoted in one year and are offered huge salary increases, but these people are amazingly dedicated intelligent people. - Good company to be with if you want to dedicate your life to your job because they will reward you. Actually, only if you really out perform. - 50+ hour weeks at least

Pros

JBS is a great way to "get your foot in the door", so to speak. Come in, learn what working in an office environment is like, and get some experience so you can get that "real" job after college, because you likely won't be staying long.

Cons

Absolute chaos. The company's sole business model is to acquire other companies without giving IT (or any other department) the time or resources they need to make the necessary adjustments or upgrades. JBS has a set of "core values" that are never adhered to or reflected by management decisions. Career development is an absolute joke and simply nonexistent (although management will continue to pretend they take it seriously). Promotions don't exist, either, at least not in a traditional sense. Everything is considered a "lateral movement", so while the employee has an entirely new set of duties and is ultimately more valuable, JBS can get away with overloading their plate without increasing their salary. My official title remained the same during my time at JBS, but my other two teammates -- who held the same position -- had entirely different titles. Accountability is a joke. System admins are allowed to do whatever they please, affecting hundreds of users, without any repercussions. Granted, JBS's system admins are overworked, too, so what choice do they have? The Help Desk is a joke -- 6 people for 20,000 users or something like that. JBS is ultimately a place stuck in the 1980s model of IT and refuses to put in the necessary time and money to make it worthwhile for employees to stick around.

Cons

Too much IT Red Tape Too many managers unwilling to "work" Keeps saying "industry standard" but shrugs when presented with the bill for "industry standard" responsibilities of a manager, but not equivalet pay
