Pros

You are surrounded by bright people and there is a lot of opportunity to learn about different clients, industries, issues, and opportunities. The environment ,while sometimes cliquie, offers a lot of camaraderie. The benefits are decent and the vacation time is generous.

Cons

The hours are long - not because they need to be to get the work done, but because utilization and face time are important. The "Employer of Choice" is a marketing tool, but poorly put into play. You can voice your opinion regarding what projects you would or would not like to work on but in the end you will just be placed where they want you to be - regardless of where you live. Depending on management you are working with, you may get haggled about justified expenses (e.g. train fare or mileage and tolls). Vacations are expected to be flexible (you may be asked to cancel or postpone). Promotions are far and few between depending on which group you work in.

Pros

Nice People who seem to care about you and want you to do well. However, you never get to see these people because you are never in the office. Lots of good perks, good benefits.

Cons

Partners force you to work long hours for their own benefit. For the amount of hours worked, the pay is not good. There is no such thing as work life balance. Its all work all the time. The training that has been given awards was rather weak and did not help make the transition into a full time job easy at all. All of the copmanies resources go to the Audit practice leaving little for anyone else.

Pros

Compensation and Big 4 name

Cons

Lots of hours, a bit of travel. The possibility of getting a 'bad' client is always there. It is somewhat the luck of the draw. You can draw a great client with a huge budget and enjoy your lunches on them as well as fewer hours spent at the job comparatively. OR, you can get a bad client with a small budget. The people can treat you poorly, you can put in lots of hours, and possibly have bad seniors on the job. KPMG does allow movement within the company if you get bored though. Overall a very great place to work
