Pros

Business doing well especially due to low commodity costs. Base categories is in low single digit. Trying to bring diverse leaders at the top.

Cons

Very passive aggressive culture. You need to be part of the Wisconsin club or the Chicago Club. Very difficult to be part of these clubs especially if you are an outsider. People in clubs are informally protected despite poor performance. If you go against the club you receive poor feedback and ultimately exited from the organization. Club members "gang up" in providing negative feedback. Very hard to be successful in this company even though you were a star coming in.

Pros

With such a storied history, Kimberly-Clark had always been close-knit. The training was great and the people were great. You knew your team would support you no matter what. Not only were they leaders in the industry, but they allowed their leaders to lead.

Cons

Times have changed. Kimberly-Clark decided not to change with the times. The arrogance of feeling like they knew more than their customers reached an all time high last year. They forgot what success looked like. They forgot what it meant to be leaders. They promoted people that had no business leading teams. Just because you are "smart" about business does not mean that you cannot learn about the marketplace. There are way too many directors that get to use their voice when the should really use their ears.

Pros

Great people to work with and for...the culture is idealistic and visionary. Adequate pay and benefits and, in my case, they encourage creative problem solving. Excellent training opportunities. Beautiful office environments and support for remote knowledge workers. They appreciate hard work, but do not try to burn you out.

Cons

Pay is a bit low compared to peer companies. They tend to have layoffs every 5-6 years ago which creates a depressing and fearful work environment for about a year. Forced ranking of employee performance, i.e. you can be "unacceptable" even if your boss says your're great and rates you as superior. To survive the rankings, you must be visible in a positive way with other managers.
