Pros

Good training & development opportunities. Genuine good people there - all offices & mills other than Reigate are excellent.

Cons

Exploitation of staff - perfectly capable people will be offered below market rates and be brain washed into thinking new job offers are development opportunities. Unsustainable cost based business model. Zero transparency over business & hiring decisions. Market based compensation (MBC) - management & HR hide behind this completely redundant salary system brought in to reassure KC's staff that they pay market rates (they do not). Constant organisational restructures (I count 3 major moves in 4 years) Consumer & KCP completely unaligned. Short term decision making without considering long term strategic growth.

Pros

I have worked at this company for 23 years and for most of those years the culture was loyal to employees while expecting a great deal of commitment and personal sacrifice, especially in terms of relocation. The wages were good, the benefits were top rate, you were held accountable but, arguably, there were some HR administrative processes that lacked standard work and leadership accountability. But all in all, a great place to work

Cons

Over the past 10 years, everything has changed. Market based compensation has meant that very few individuals get an annual salary handling. Benefits have been consistently cut year after year. Organizational redesigns have occurred with regularity every 20 - 30 months which has slashed the management workforce. And yet, we have brought in legions and layers of management from the outside, especially among the Marketing, HR and ITS community. Long service employees with consistently strong performance records are simply moved out.

Pros

They pay you, until they don't need you.

Cons

They preach "values" and "accountability" but nobody follows either. They will throw you away if it can save them money. They are no different than any other big company although now they don't just cut you, they make you sit a few months, then try to drive you out while making you out to be a bad employee.
