Pays well, hard work.

Pros

Good pay, get yearly bonuses. Company likes to keep you in the loop. Many stores open yearly with many positions with high up word mobility.

Cons

Worked very hard, often without breaks. Company is all about profit and works hard to make sure you have little help in the form of coworkers.

Pros

The only pro I can really point out with Kwik Trip is that they start their employees off $10.00 per hour, but this ends up being negated when you actually end up working positions that really should be separate hires as well.

Cons

Life insurance policies: Even with the $10PH starting rate, the insurance policy premiums and costs are atrocious. They can range well beyond what employees make at the store. Extreme favoritism: I'm sure this isn't the case for every store, but it definitely factored into my experience with the company and it's the first time in the ten years I've worked retail that I am reporting extreme favoritism between employees. Be prepared to take out trash and clean bathrooms daily, or even repetitively throughout the day if you're disliked. Also be prepared to be drilled for ridiculous things, like forgetting ONE suggestive sell in a ten hour period. If that's not bad enough, this company will write you up for the most random and ridiculous reasons, I've seen to date. Lack of breaks! This one is major: Even after pointing out that one 10 minute break per 10 hour shift is illegal and was told the company policy was to take a 10 minute break per every four hour shift: I was still stuck with only one break per shift. Severe lack of gender diversity in management: I have yet to see any female management positions with the company. Positions here require you to really maintain at least four separate positions (you're basically getting paid to work as a cashier, janitor, trash collector and stocker).

Pros

If you have a great store manager, you will have a good experience; if not, you won't. Our district manager was useless. Rarely spoke to most people and did zero development. My store manager is one of the best in the company; because of this, the store was really a good team. But all of the extra effort was because no one wanted to ever let the manager down, not because anything the company did in the form of compensation.

Cons

Massive employee handbook and 13 hours of boring video training. I've never seen a company that expects so much from hourly people. Everyone I worked with that has been there for more than ten years has bad ankles, bad knees or a back back from constantly having to stand.
