Pros
Free fruit (1 per shift), profit sharing bonus, flexible-ish scheduling
Cons
Worked here as a part-time employee on top of a full-time job elsewhere. This job is significantly more stressful than my full-time job. 1. Managers must get some sort of bonus for using less labor hours. The stores are continually understaffed, despite having the staff to properly function. They also lie about why stores are understaffed. However, I was actually told by the manager that if we were good employees we wouldn't need more staff, so theres that. 2. You get fired if you eat the waste food. Its considered stealing despite the fact that it will be thrown out. A disgusting amount of food is thrown away daily. 3. Given way more tasks that can be handled. It sometimes comes down to either getting food out to customers or doing tasks. You're yelled at for whatever choice you make. 4. Instead of giving raises to employees, they do a profit sharing end of year bonus, which is taxed at a much higher rate than hourly wages. 5. Calling in sick is an abysmal experience. If you cant find coverage, you're expected to come in, even if you have influenza. 6. Upper management becomes upset if you leave at your scheduled time and don't finish some tasks. They, however, can leave early because they need to "go pick up mouthwash". 7. Horrific management. In my time I have heard my store leader call people "emotionless droids", the f-slur, and the b-word. Because these things didn't happen directly to me, I did not report to HR.
