Pros

Pay is great for a college student, love the year-end bonuses and various perks throughout the year. Not a difficult job.

Cons

Can get very monotonous, the shifts are always 8 or more hours and there's not a lot of growth opportunities.

Pros

Overall, Kwik Trip/Kwik Star (KT from here on out) is an excellent place to work. The majority of individuals have solid moral compass and will treat you well. Company shares profits with all team members including part-timers. Individual schedule restrictions are generally honored (ie, can't work til after 6 am due to day-care). However, the individual must do research to insure he/she does not end up working for the (very rare) awful store lead. The majority of your team mates and leaders will have worked their way up the ladder - they are an impressive lot of individuals. You will grow to love them (at least most of them - and you'll probably be okay even with the most annoying ones, ha-ha). Time and a half for holidays and some kind of benefit for the night shift. You are never alone in the store overnight (unless their is an emergency).

Cons

In the retail environment, the individual store manager can make/break your KT experience. While employees are told they can contact HR directly, the first question you'll get from HR is, "did you ask your store leader?" It is also very apparent that HR doesn't want to hear that the problem is with that individual. They do not give one a level of confidence that they would know what to do if the problem is the store leader. But again, due diligence on your part can prevent placement under such an individual. You will work weekends - but not all.
