They Pretend to Care About Mental Health, But It’s All for Show
Pros
Canteen and barista thats about it.
Cons
MSD likes to talk a big game about mental health and employee wellbeing, but the reality on the ground couldn’t be more different. There’s a culture of fake positivity — lots of posters, emails, and “wellbeing initiatives,” but no real support when you actually need it. If you’re struggling, you’re just expected to “push through” while leadership pats themselves on the back for creating a “supportive culture.” Morale across teams is very low, and people are burning out quietly because they don’t feel safe to speak up. Management seems more interested in appearances than actually addressing workloads, unrealistic expectations, or the constant stress. It’s disappointing, because MSD could be a great place to work if they truly cared about their people instead of just pretending to.
