Pros

Strong helping culture, people, location, quarter century club, bonus structure, great place to work that allows for a work life balance, opportunity to move and grow.

Cons

Depends on where you work. If you are a hotel employee, or in a field location, they need to improve the pay and benefits. At corp HQ, so very politically driven. Also, once you leave Marriott, even though you have the experience, it's very hard, if not impossible to come back. As an older worker, I feel like they no longer want me because I'm not a Millennial. Benefits reduced each year, medical plans only so-so.

Flexible Company

Pros

Marriott is very flexible and adjusts to your lifestyle, the perks of hotel discounts are also great and there are a lot of opportunities for growth. The health benefits are also very good.

Cons

PTO is very difficult as you barely get any as you start out and it takes a while to increase. Also because it's such a sought after company, there is a lot of competition for every job you might want. Salaries are also known to be below average.

Pros

They have amazing opportunities if you want to grow as a professional (including tuition reimbursement), some of the best guests and employees in the world, and a vested interest in seeing you succeed.

Cons

The amount and variability of the hours are a downside, but once you reach a certain leve, that ceases to be a problem. Work hours are also very demand based, so if your hotel if full, you will be working a tight schedule, if not then you might have a lighter schedule.
