Pros

Hard work pays off at McDonald's, and the benefits are great - especially the 401K. I've never met a harder working group of people. That applies to the people in the restaurants, as well as the staff in each of the regions. Imagine the challenges of tuning an engine that is running 24-7. That analogy applies to McDonald's - it's a system that never sleeps. But, everyone in McDonad's strives each day to do a better job than the day before. It isn't an easy task. But, it is a cornerstone of the culture.

Cons

We work extremely hard - the restaurants only close 2 days a year. It doesn't matter what your discipline is - it's challenging work. But, we're also the best in the industry. McDonald's is using technology more than it ever has, but it still has a long way to go before technology provides the benefits it has the potential to provide to the system.

Pros

Employee Recognition is outstanding. Food Benefits are good also.. Top Management is good is communicating vision to employees..

Cons

No match on 401K plan by employer. Pay for shift managers is not equitable. Salaried management opportunities need to be equitable based on experience as well as actual performance on the job....ie Standards for Promotion versus the "gut" of the Store Manager/Supervisor. Career Path for people who want to be promoted from within needs to be more attainable.

Pros

Easy job, nice coworkers, friendly enviorment. Pay is not good; however, the customers can sometimes be fun and entertaining. It is close to home so I do not have to drive very far. Somtimes my boss even picks me up if the weather is bad or something. I am able to eat free food and or get discountsw for my friends and family members. They will encourage you to go to the McDonalds school that they offer. It teaches you about manager opportunities. I do not want to be a manager but I think the classes are okay and good for some that would be interested.

Cons

The biggest downside is the pay.; It is hard to pay my bills with little pay, They only pay minimum wage and it is not very nice to pay such a low wage. Not a lot of room for advancement, you do not need a college opportunity to work for mcdonalds; however, it is preetty much a dead end job. You won't end up being an important part of the company as you spend a lot of time learning about hamburgers instead of advancing your career and moving forward. It somtimes really isnt worth it, but it is easy work, so the pay and advancement opportunites shoulod be expected gto be high.
