Pros

I work with wonderful people who are both driven and caring. Management goes out of their way to emphasize the importance of work-life balance, and seems to genuinely mean it. Despite the various scandals Nike has been embroiled in over the last 5 years or so, I cannot think of a less sexist-feeling environment. The majority of leaders around me are strong, confident women, well-respected by their male and female colleagues alike, who aren't afraid to speak frankly and unapologetically about their priorities outside of work, which, as a new mom myself, I've been very grateful for. Great benefits as well, which keep getting better (though some more PTO would always be nice).

Cons

The way the 2020 reorg was handled was annoying, to say the least. An attempt at transparency backfired when incomplete information left us more questioning/paranoid than we might have been otherwise, for months. The changes that were made were then hardly explained, resulting in a lot of confusion. Short of that, I'm not sure any complaints I have are unique to Nike so much as the inevitable result of an organization this huge. My area of the company is still in its infancy, relatively speaking, so there are a lot of uncharted processes we're trying to figure out and navigating the "matrix" to get things done can be a nightmare, recent "simplication" (AKA reorg) notwithstanding.

Avoid if you're a POC

Pros

Good PTO policy, can't think of much else.

Cons

I'm going to be direct, this has been one of the most toxic work enviroment as a POC woman I have ever experienced in my life. Sexist and racist comments may not be as rampant as other places but huge incidents will be ignored by HR, you'll most likely be blacklisted and never get a growth opportunity ever. HR's only objective is to avoid a lawsuit. Be careful who you trust, this is very much a gentleman club. They will use you as much as they can and fire afterwards in a 3 min zoom call. Do not expect any opportunities, Black and Brown women do not make it to the top, EVER. Some of the most talented POCs can stay at the same position for 15 years while random incompetent white 20 something graduate become managers. 1on1s do not matter and training will not be provided. People frequently sleep their way to positions.

Demoralizing, horrible place to work.

Pros

Discounts on terrible gear? The campus is nice.

Cons

Terrible leadership. It seems like Nike promotes children to lead the company - those who are interested in a cult-like culture and faddish products. They do not take leadership reviews seriously and there is a retaliatory culture. It is well-known that a majority of employees are miserable. But if you want to live in Portland and make a decent salary, you are kind of stuck. Vacation plan also sucks.
