NC have completely changed the platform since late 2021. The platform caters mostly to foreign teachers not 'natives' as their name suggests. It should be renamed Filipinocamp because it caters largely to teachers from there instead. Standby or 'sudden' lessons used to be a great way to increase your daily earnings on the platform and picking them up was very easy in the past. I used to do about 7-12 per day on top of my reservation classes to up my daily earnings. However since NC introduced different packages for students that has all but disappeared. Waiting times for standby classes are often hours! Booking are practically non existent! NC allows students to select lesson times. Often students who are pretending to learn English will take 5-15 minute classes. Most of the time the student either ends the class early or the signal cuts out. It is too easy for students to take classes and abruptly end lessons when they no longer feel like doing them. Nc pays by the minute (16 US cents). So if a student takes a 15 minute class and disappears after 4 minutes you are paid 64 cents. Oh by the way if a student disappears after 3 minutes 52 seconds NC pays you for 3 minutes not 4! They are the greediest ESL company currently in existence. NC allows students to rate teachers if the class lasts even one minute. If the review is negative you are sent template responses from bots basically refusing to remove the reviews. NC is too preoccupied with nonsense other than fixing the various issues they have with either in lesson signal quality, their poor rating system, awful textbooks (which often dont load properly). NC has an irritating needless safety feature called 'facial recognition' this pointless safety feature pops up every 24 hours and does not let you gain access to your profile until its completed. It usually takes several attempts to gain entry as it simply does not work. On several occasions i have attempted to get in and been refused yet when i held a mug,my mobile phone,my wallet and a coaster up to it it allowed me in!!!!! It is an absolutely needless,pointless,infuriating feature the geeks in NCs tech dept have added! Countless glitches and signal problems occur that NC blames on the teachers internet signal instead. I know for a fact they do this as i have tested this myself by having a friend sign up and take lessons with me. When your friend leaves the classroom or tries reconnecting NC posts an update on the page blaming the teacher for being unable to connect when your connection is fine. Of course NC denies doing this!! Theft - NC regularly takes money out of teachers wallets and makes up things like 'overpayment correction' or 'the lessons were not conducted properly'. Native camp once took nealy 30 usd out of my account overnigh because a student had signed up using fake details and taken lessons with me, they told me that because i had taken lessons with this person they could not honour the payments and told me i should have asked the student first if he was legitimate! Is that really something people would ask a student when they take a class 'excuse me, before we start can i ask something? Are you a legitimate student or have you signed up using fake details and payment methods?' really!!!. That error was on their side so i basically wasted 2hrs 10 minutes of my time because they were too stupid to stop a scammer signing up! How am i supposed (or any other teacher) supposed to know this!! Payment - $4.16 was semi okayish in 2020 before the democrats and the left destroyed our global economy forcing us all to hide for two years because of a cold virus. $4.16 simply does not cut it anymore. Booked classes at 8.96usd is fine. Suddnen lessons should be 20 minutes long maximum and paid in full regardless of whether student takes a 20 minute class or 3 minute class and pay should be at least 5usd!! NC if you miss a booked class removed nearlly 9 usd from your wallet. This is simply an absurd penalty for missing a class! Classes are often missed because of signal problems caused on their side or because students cannot access the platform due to 'facial recognition' not working.
