Pros

The only thing you can count as a plus is that you are employed. Lots of different ethnic backgrounds, a lot of wonderful people, sans Management.

Cons

Very Bad management style and poor options for improvement or development. Only if you are willing to 'brown nose' or act like a buffoon , you might make it higher up the management chain( this pertains to my experience at The Amsterdam Offices mind you). Hardly any retaining of great and hard workers. Very adamant in when they want to get rid of you, to tell you , that "you aren't fitting their "Cult(ure)"... Poor training, very childish system of commending you for your hard work, No perks even though They lie and tell you that there are( watching Nepflix free, if you even get the time IS NOT a perk), super stingy with merchandise. Very boring and bland lunch and dinners( the catering staff is top Notch)...even though it is "free"... it is not, it comes out of your salary monthly. The work rosters are ridiculous and totally not adhering to dutch work day and work-hour laws. A lot of flexibility is expected from you , without getting any in return. A lot of nepotism and very peculiar and unsavory practices on and off the work floor... Boring and repetitive work for the customer service. A lot of managers have stayed and left in short time because of the unprofessional way certain issues have been handled and i could go on and on...I am amazed that this part of the company is even still there ( for now)... AVOID! Anybody with sense will find all of this and more out in a short time. Working for Netflix only SOUNDS cool, but it totally is NOT.

Pros

+ Culture is extraordinary, no yelling allowed, respect for all demanded, smiles down the hallways, hard workers, creators of extraordinary things, all people want to do is bring our subscribers joy. + I feel like I can learn from each and every person, always + Sounds weird, but I feel like I deserve to be here after all of my hard work + Netflix makes me feel like I'm the best person for my job + Culture of feedback, you never need to wonder where you stand + Inclusion. Lower level people are in every meeting, are extremely included and encouraged to take on more responsibility. + Pay is more than I'd get anywhere else for my position + Benefits + Stock Options

Cons

Non really... I guess sometimes the free lunch has delicious ravioli that I'm not thrilled about letting myself eat.

Pros

* Salary * Perks (transportation / lunch / swag / celebrations) * Business is great, customers are happy * Internal tools are generally quite good

Cons

* Too much coordination required to get anything accomplished / too much coupling between systems (in contrast to stated culture) * Poor engineering practices on most teams and very difficult to get teams to move to newer technology * As company has grown, managers have taken a more active role, to the detriment of the code and architecture * No leadership/seniority path for engineers - which also implies all engineers believe that they are special snowflakes. This makes it hard to push for big changes. * Engineering talent is decreasing over time.
