Pros

-It is so comfortable to work at company thinking to make the world better. I feel product team is thinking to make player happy more than to get profit, which I feel there is a big difference from some other gaming company. -Good salary with good benefit. It may be a standard for SF company, but not for Tokyo! I really enjoy lunch fee aid. submit receipt via app and get money back next month:)

Cons

-Strong English skill with flexibility for working time is required for non-US location employees. These are same for most of international company in Japan, though.

Pros

More than just Pokemon Go. Niantic has a great mission, and is headed by smart leaders. A fun new and growing company to work for. Freedom to try new things, experiment, and take ownership over areas of interest plus benefits are fantastic and a compensation is great.

Cons

I've been working here for more than 15 months and truly enjoy everything so far.

Pros

Management seems to care very much about your well being and feelings. They've made it their mission to make sure people feel heard and that the company mission and direction are expressed openly and honestly each week. Throughout the Covid situation, Niantic has been extremely accommodating in the work from home environment. Niantic is a proactive tech company trying to lead the world in AR. They're also a Game Studio. Yet Niantic seems to handle this clash of 2 different cultures well. There is a firm belief in no-crunch. Health insurance coverage is great.

Cons

LA Office is not the best physical office/not in the best location. Compensation could be a bit higher as well. Hours for LA office tend to start a little later than normal, and therefore end a little later in the day than I desire.

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We are truly living in unprecedented times and will do our best to keep on top of Covid and our work from home plan. Our LA studio is doing some amazing work. The office is definitely a quirky and creative work environment but we are growing fast and we expect that our work environment will have to evolve and change as we grow. - Maria Weaver, Chief People Officer
