Great product and talented people

Pros

The product is an industry leader and the pay is competitive. There are some top notch professionals at the company and they have the top VC's in the country backing them.

Cons

Adoption of cloud IAM is slow in the enterprise space. Seems to be difficult finding a compelling reason for customers to purchase. Cut throat sales environment.

Identity management is indeed a competitive space, but Okta continues to differentiate itself against the competition. Gartner recognized that this summer with our clear “leader” ranking. And, with announcements through the year, you will see how Okta is expanding the idea of what identity really means for the enterprise, and how it is key to linking the right people, to the right information, on the right device.

Pros

Invented the cloud identity space. Enterprise software: quality, performance and security the top priorities. Very strong developers with tremendous sense of ownership. Approachable and transparent executives.

Cons

Enterprise software is not always sexy. Code is complex, and since we are growing fast there are not a lot of people with tribal knowledge. Quality automation flappy and hence in the way.

Pros

free lunch three days a week free snacks in the kitchen -- but what start-up doesn't have this? lots of parties with alcohol -- if you are into that sort of thing.

Cons

12-16 hour work days are the norm zero work life balance -- no matter what they say on their website and in the interview it seemed peachy when i started....but the cracks are showing. typical management lies and backstabbing. its no different from any other valley company overflowing w egos and career ladder climbers ....just looks shiny from the outside.

Thank you for taking the time to be honest with your feedback. All start-ups experience growing pains, and we are no exception. But, we want to maintain a healthy, transparent culture that does not support the sort of behavior you describe. Please speak to any manager or your HR representative about your concerns so we can address them directly and quickly.
