Pros

Good team members, flexible work environment, fair pay

Cons

everything for the shareholders, change for the sake of it and association with UnitedHealthcare which often makes it morally difficult to stay

Pros

Good peers at the clinic level that care about their patients

Cons

The organization is very clear that it does not care about patients, it does not care about employees, it only about the money. As an employee it is clear that the company just views you as a number in their financial model. This may be true elsewhere, but only Optum is so aggressive in making sure that you know and feel it. Frontline employee wages keep getting pushed down to "poor market conditions and performance" while exec compensation continues to set new records every year.
