Pros

They treat their engineers well and reward good work. The quality of the people in the database is quite good, and they are more interested in what you get done than your seniority, etc. There is also a lot of flexibility about work hours, telecommuting, etc. It's a big company, with lots of job opportunities within, so if you find yourself sick of what you are doing, you don't even have to switch companies.

Cons

It's a big company -- there's bureaucracy and plenty of questionably useful employees.

Pros

Looks good on your resume. You can maintain good work life balance if you want. Hiring process is not very lengthy - maybe 3-5 interviews and background, reference checks. They are devoted to cutting costs and as a result reliance on technology is high. I like the bonus structure and the fact that they are paid out quarterly as opposed to yearly. It may take a few weeks to get used to everything but life gets easier after that.

Cons

You can get lost in the crowd. Onboarding process is very hap hazard and it takes a while to get used to settle in. I don't think they are the best paymasters in town.

Pros

After joining Oracle, you can see how small small group work together / not work together / fight with each other. If you can survive in a small group foes < 2 years, you are the champ & would have no problem in another other company. You get a change to work on critical account ( if part of consulting / field support) & see how to DUMP & RUN with customer issues, blame customer / his employees for all the problems created by Oracle software. You also get a chance to meet some vert talented & best software guru's in the industry.

Cons

Do not care about employees much, but so much worry for Wall Street results, know how to save money - with no employees travel. They will waste millions of dollars in Open World, entertaing customers, but when its time to share wealth with employees,its like pulling teeth from the manager. Most of the managers have been @ Oracle for more than 15 years & reach a stage where they won't quit Oracle, unable to keep up with technological advances, won't be in touch with customers. Bars for engineers has been going up n up while managers have been lucky with not much work to do.
