Pros

The best thing about working at Outback is that you have the opportunity to make it fun and you get to interact with the customers, most of which were friendly and very nice. Also, you get a 50% discount on your food when you eat there.

Cons

The worst part about being a hostess was that if anyone in the restaurant is dissatisfied, you take the blame for it. If a customer is unhappy with anything, you get to hear it because usually the waiter/waitress is too busy to be around at that moment. If the waiter/waitress doesn't like the customers you give them, you might be getting fussed out! Also, because it is so hard to find good help, management has a tendency to keep horrible employees. Finally, you don't get breaks and are not allowed to sit down during a shift, even when there are no customers.

Pros

One of the best reasons to work at my particular outback steakhouse was the location, because it was on the water. Also, since it is a chain restaurant, the chances of it never being busy are somewhat more unlikely.

Cons

The management rarely expresses any interest in over-achievers, and so I was never shown a reason to try much harder than just the bare minimum after working there a few months.
