Heartless

Pros

None. I only "worked" 1 day to fill-out paperwork and be sent home to study menu to pass test to be allowed to earn money to EAT! I wish they had told me when they hired me that I would have to take a test to be able to work and earn money and not have gone to work to NOT EARN MONEY!

Cons

Heartless uncaring management. I bet they "GIVE" to charity for appearances, but COULD CARE LESS about their employees being able to house and feed themselves.

Pros

Great for entry level position/high school job to get some money. Exposure to restaurant business. Half off everything all the time (minus alcohol)

Cons

Pay almost entirely depends on tips of the night and likewise success of restaurant. Treated fairly poorly, at bottom of the chain as a host. Management not very helpful and very understaffed in servers, clear that the chain is declining and losing quality.

Pros

They are a teamwork based company. They sleep, eat, and breathe teamwork. They have funds set up for any outbacker who is in need. It was like one giant family that did everything together. Opportunities are endless when it comes to moving ahead with the company. There are contest and the prizes that are things like tickets to a big event. I was able to hang out on the VIP deck at the Sounds game after winning one time. Just overall a fantastic company to work for.

Cons

Starting with only 3 table sections, then eventually moving to 4 tables as a closer, opener, or headwait. Don't get me wrong it's awesome to have teamwork at all times, but eventually there is always a bump on the log that lets everyone pull the weight for them. Management sometimes was amazing, and then at times became a popularity contest, rather than focusing on maturity and work ethic. A lot of hard working employees can go unnoticed or under appreciated because of this, while lackadaisical employees skate their way through to the top.
