Pros

Good benefits. Non-managers on the team are all great to work with; hardworking, good communication, and knowledgeable. We get goodies once a month, which is nice.

Cons

Release schedule has not been adjusted despite losing 15+ developers since in the last year (only ~4 have been hired to compensate), leading to lots of overtime and rushed work. Mid-management is a grab-bag of skill ranging from uninspiringly capable to morale-crushingly incompetent. Don't bother hoping for this to change, though, since they're mostly family and friends of family. New features are underdeveloped due to incomplete designs (see previous point) and buggy upon release due to understaffed QA working on hyper-accelerated cycles. The company is stingy about pay raises. Any question regarding them is handled by management ignoring it and hoping you forget about it. There's a push for outsourcing art, engineering, and QA. You can't spin hiring cheaper overseas replacements as a good thing for the dev team.

The Company

Pros

Had met with some very talented people and friendly crowd in the office. Flexible hours. Good technology stacks. Outing activity is great. You can bring dogs to work. Free lunch for Wed and Thur. Excellent office manager.

Cons

Company was great at the first few years. There is very little room to grow in products and thus also as an individual at the company. There are tremendous structural changes. CEO is determined to put everything under his control. So all the other cofounders are gone and so of every level of the organization is washed out. It is not a very stable working environment.

Pros

I left a position with a very toxic boss only to join PLAYSTUDIOS with an executive team of inexperienced egomaniacs. The only pro was that I was significantly better at my job than everyone around me so I was able to continuously out perform despite incompetent leadership and hires. I also made money on my stocks by leaving early and recently selling while anyone foolishly held out hope for the company to actually succeed.

Cons

Nepotism was horrific. Despite entire lack of experience and competence these people were entrusted with the success of major titles. Failure and disasters were never addressed at the source and instead of ever holding the right people accountable they shut down a studio.
