Pros

The problem is the business model, is too old. Big multinationals are killing the current system. To be profitable they are cutting the teams. That's why You learn a lot, and you have many responsibilities.

Cons

totally overstepped. You work more than 9 hours per day. You have to read in your free time (weekend included). The salary (if you compare it with the same role in other industries) it's sooooo low.

Pros

Penguin Random House cares about its employees. Fabulous benefits, great facility, occasional bonuses, fitness reimbursement--the works. Strong values and commitment to publishing great books.

Cons

It's difficult to get promoted at certain imprints--especially those that are more established. Also, depending on the department you work in, work/life balance becomes nearly impossible to maintain.
