Pros

If you like long hours and not having much time for yourself and family this job is great for you.. The pay and benefits are good.

Cons

As a Merchandiser You can get anywhere around 4 to 6 stores a day. if a manager at one of them stores calls your manager and now they want a display put up or something special after you finished packing out and already left, now your supervisor calls u and you have to go back Either at the end of your 12+ hour day or between stores. Anywhere from 6 to 10+ Chiefs in one day at each account <Store managers, receiver, department managers, your supervisor, territory manager and sales rep> for that route and your the lone Indian. if anyone on a different route is falling behind on their progression through stores, Your manager could possibly call you and have you pick up one of their 4 stores after you already done 4 or 5 yourself. If something was not done well at any of your stores buy a sales representative the previous day< example: Poorly filled the coolers, not filled the display properly or aisle, Water 24 packs, Lifewater section ect..> and you get 5 to 10 pallets at the bigger store that day you can be in there for 4 to 5 hours, specially on weekends and if you don't have anyone picking up any of your stores, 5 hours at one, 5 more stops left minimum 1 hour at them, your starting at a base time of 10 hours already.. better hope nothing goes wrong at all the stores..

Pros

The company always tried to come up with ways to grow. HQ finds it just as important to grow as do the salespeople and managers. The company was supportive with equipment and finally technology.

Cons

Company is overly politically correct and doesn't promote due to merit. One must be in the young up and comer crowd hired by the promoting manager. Pay increases extremely gradual. HR was inconsistent to when they stood behind disciplinary processes. Almost every holiday we had dog and pony shows to waste our time for hours and hours to impress Senior Management with unsustainable and unrealistic market tours.

Pros

Though a snack foods company, Frito-Lay strives to create a healthy product to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Employees are taught the benefits of and encouraged to uphold work life balance. Additionally, and surprisingly, the company is also highly focused on environmental efforts and sustaining the world around us. On Earth Day in 2010 a fully compostable SunChips bag will be revealed to the market. Go GREEN! Though only an intern for Frito Lay's Operations department, I have greatly enjoyed my work there and feel I was given REAL projects to work on and gained valuable experience. Furthermore, I've found that within a company it is all about the PEOPLE you work with, and the people at Frito Lay are genuine, friendly, ambitious, and overall the type of people you enjoy hanging out with!

Cons

As an intern, I would appreciate a defined program. Currently, I am assigned to one role and there are no plans to move me around within the department. I would like an intern program where I can experience one department of Operations for 6-12 months and then move to another department of Operations for another 6-12 months. While I AM going to switch departments after 6 months, that was due to my personal efforts to seek out the opportunity rather than a pre-determined plan.
