      Top Performers get lumped in the same way as mediocre ones

      Pros

      The variety of assignments allows a fresh graduate to quickly understand the key drivers of each industry; allowing him to find his specialisation sooner. Peers are helpful and the collegiate environment makes the long hours more bearable. Excellent knowledge network.

      Cons

      Long hours, low pay - they just dont pay enough for talent. As a result, when all the international banks start poaching employees from the Big 4, the people just left in droves. This further exacerbated the morale of those who stayed. Insufficient recognition of the top performers, blunt and undifferentiated promotion mechanism - top performers maybe get 5% more bonus than the mediocre ones. This meant top performers get pissed off and leave, whilst mediocre ones huddle in the safety of numbers and just coast along.

      Pros

      Great benefits and competitive salary. A fast paced learning environment and promotion timeline. A great, friendly office environment allows you to meet a diverse group of people and build your professional network as the turnover seems to be high so many of your colleagues go to work for private companies. Overall it's a great company. Our group has had numerous happy hours, outings, volunteering events, and other things that make working there that much more enjoyable.

      Cons

      Long hours can be a drain especially on your social life. They need to pay attention to the needs of the staff as far as hours and personal committments. It becomes hard to manage work and personal life especially during busy seasons.

      There are tremendous learning opportunities Formal training is endless Opportunities to work with global clients There is exposure to the SEC There is great variety in work and people There are opportunities to work with some of the brightest around It has a very young crowd

      Cons

      Low pay Low raises Low/No bonuses Not getting paid overtime There is ambiguity as far as management's reactions to whether we should shut up and eat hours or break the budget and deal with it. NEVER eat hours! Deal with it and charge the client more now or next time! Not enough travel opportunities Not enough global opportunities
