Extremely stressful

Pros

My immediate team is nice.

Cons

Lack of training. Poor communication from senior leadership on expectations. So much fluff. Unreal expectations to deliver. unrealistic timelines. A little appreciation would go a long way. Not even a pizza lunch to say “thanks” to teams that are completely burned out. Speaking on behalf of a very tired digital product team.

Pros

Benefits are the best PTO and work from home arrangement is nice

Cons

No matter how much you work, they will always ask more from you. There is no on the job training, you will be required to figure it out as you go. The managers are so busy they have no time left to actually pay attention to their employees. You are given no goals, no direction and no feedback. You cannot say no to questions that are asked of you, you are expected to do jobs well outside of your scope. If you do need help the managers will question your commitment. Managers work 60+ hours 7 days a week and most people on the team feel pressured to do the same. The technology they roll out is terrible and you are expected to stand behind the technology that does not work at all. You spend most of your day fielding complaints that you cannot take action on. They will roll out technology they know doesn't work and just hope for the best.

Pros

Large corporation with options to move between a variety of different roles.

Cons

Cronyism, boys club culture. Little regard for work life balance but constant propaganda on faux-wellness and mental health (overworked and overstressed? How about a meditation app!). Mandated 3 or 4 days in office with no regard for flexibility.
