Pros

Good employees, sufficient and ongoing training. Pride about being an employee of RBC. Pay has improved drastically after employee feedback, however, this can also be a con as it was more employee complaint initiated.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations. Unwilling to hear feedback that doesnt conform to their standards. Bad culture when it comes recognising what they can do better than the direct competition. They have a sense of we are the only home and auto player mentality. Mismatch between training and reality on the job, i.e willing to accept poor underwriting performances for results. Willing to reward poor employee behavior as well.

Pros

Great Benefits, and easy to get to offices and locations

Cons

Incoherent policies that seem to change every 6 months. Employees are out for themselves and managers are absent or non-existent. Your career path is based on who you know and not on your talent. The inclusiveness and progressiveness of the Canadian head office does not seem to apply to the US entities. Witnessed many episodes of discriminatory behavior against minorities and homophobia which were never addressed by the managers. Bullying is rampant and the managers are not never around and don't seem to care. Career path is very limited and although the benefits are good, they don't pay very well. Most people seem to leave in 1-2 years.
